We designed and built a private ADU with handcrafted rustic character, inspired by a classic tavern. Every detail—from the custom woodwork to the reclaimed-style finishes—was built by hand to create a truly personal retreat.

The Process

From Vision to Rustic Tavern Retreat

Existing Garage / Storage Space

An unused garage with dated finishes and no character.

Demo & Slab Preparation

Demolition and site prep with new slab and utilities set for the build.

Structural Framing

New walls and openings were framed to define the ADU's layout and establish the structure for the new living space.

Roof Structure & Skylights

The roof was reworked and skylights were added to bring natural light deep into the space and create a more open interior.

Walls, Utilities & Enclosure

With the structure and rough-ins in place, walls were enclosed and the interior began to take on its finished form..
